Toni and Andrea Bojanić run one of the smallest cellars on Hvar’s south coast, around 5,000 bottles a year, in Bojanić Bad, a handful of houses between Jagodna and Zavala. Winemaking runs back generations in the family, and their son Ivan is growing up in the cellar.
The range is built on the island’s own grapes. Plavac Bojanić Bad and Fortunol are both plavac mali; Forka blends Hvar’s two old whites, bogdanuša and prč. There is also a pošip and a plavac mali rosé.
Besides the cellar in Bojanić Bad, the family pours and sells its wine at a spot among the vines in Jagodna, just below the vineyard, a simple, very local way to taste.
