Pokonji Dol Beach, Hvar

You can reach it in 20 to 30 minutes on foot along the seaside path past the Franciscan monastery, or come by car, scooter or taxi boat. The water is clear with an easy entry, good for families and for snorkelling.

Two beach restaurants rent out umbrellas, sunbeds, kayaks and paddle boats in season, and there is a snack bar and a changing cabin. It is busiest between noon and 3 pm in July and August, so arrive early for a good spot.
