Hula Hula beach (Majerovica)
Pebble and stone beach on the western promenade of Hvar town, best known for the Hula Hula beach bar and its sunsets.
Hula Hula is Hvar's best known afterbeach spot: a rocky stretch of shore with a dock and a big lounge deck on the coastal promenade, about 15 minutes on foot west of the main square, on the way towards Hotel Podstine.
Swimming is off the rocks and the dock. In season the venue runs about 600 m2 of lounge space with sunbeds on the rocks, premium beds with waiter service on the dock, food, cocktails and a massage pavilion.
The bar faces west towards the Pakleni islands, so sunset is the main event: a DJ starts as the sun drops and the deck turns into a dance floor, busiest from about 4 pm to 6 pm. Come in the morning for a quiet swim, or after 4 pm for the party. Open May to September.
Beach vitals
Faces the open south, so it is calm in the bura from the north and choppy when the jugo blows from the south east.
Sun most of the day, shade only where the pines or the cliff reach the water.
