Vela Stiniva is a remote shingle cove on the north east coast of Hvar below the village of Zastrazisce, where steep crags drop straight into the sea. The Jelsa tourist board calls it a superb shingle beach.

You reach it by boat or by the narrow road down from Zastrazisce; a handful of houses and a small seasonal restaurant stand around the beach.

The clear, deep water suits swimming, scuba diving and jumping from the rocks, and the cliffs around the cove carry free climbing routes. The 18th century Dubokovic Nadalini country house is the local landmark.
