Which is the most famous beach on Hvar?

Dubovica, a white-pebble cove with a stone house between Hvar town and Sveta Nedjelja. Steep 10-minute access path; arrive before 10 am in July and August.

Are there sandy beaches on Hvar?

Mostly pebbles, but Palmizana on the Pakleni islands has a sandy lagoon and Grebisce near Jelsa has a sandy bottom with knee-deep water for 50 metres, ideal for small children.

How do I reach the Pakleni islands beaches?

Taxi boats leave Hvar riva roughly every 30 minutes in season for Palmizana, Stipanska, Zdrilca and Mlini, or take a private speedboat to any cove on your own schedule.

Which beaches are best for families?

Grebisce and Mina near Jelsa, Vrboska pinewood beaches, and Banj in Stari Grad: shallow, calm and shaded.

Where is the Carpe Diem beach?

On Stipanska bay, Marinkovac island (Pakleni). Carpe Diem Beach club runs its own taxi boats from the Hvar riva.

Do Hvar beaches have sunbeds and parasols?

Organised beaches near the towns, like Bonj, Hula Hula, Mina and Grebisce, rent sunbeds and have bars. Wilder coves such as Dubovica, Mekicevica and Vela Stiniva have no facilities, so bring water and shade.
