How do you get to Zavala: on foot, by car or by boat?
You arrive from Jelsa through the Pitve tunnel, about 1.4 km of rough single lane rock where water drips from the ceiling; the view of Scedro, Korcula, Vis and the Peljesac peninsula when you exit is worth the drive. A gravel road east leads to Gromin Dolac, a favourite swimming spot among locals. What is the seabed like and how is the entry into the sea?
Zavala is a string of pebble beaches lined one after another along the south shore, below stone houses, oleander and steep vineyard terraces. The water is clear and shallow enough for children. A gravel road east leads to Gromin Dolac, a favourite swimming spot among locals.
Is there a restaurant or bar at Zavala?
Yes, within a few hundred metres you will find Zaca Bar Zavala, Restaurant Davor, Terasa. In peak season come early or book a table for lunch.
What should we bring to Zavala?
Pack water shoes for the pebbles, an umbrella or a hat, natural shade is not guaranteed, sun cream and a towel.
Can we arrive by taxi boat?
