Zavala is a string of pebble beaches lined one after another along the south shore, below stone houses, oleander and steep vineyard terraces. The water is clear and shallow enough for children.

You arrive from Jelsa through the Pitve tunnel, about 1.4 km of rough single lane rock where water drips from the ceiling; the view of Scedro, Korcula, Vis and the Peljesac peninsula when you exit is worth the drive.

Konoba Zavala serves seafood about 150 m from the beach, and a dedicated naturist beach lies between Zavala and Sveta Nedjelja. A gravel road east leads to Gromin Dolac, a favourite swimming spot among locals.
