For July and August, as early as you can. The best houses are taken months in advance, and the largest ones first. In May, June and September you can often find something excellent a few weeks out and at a noticeably better price.

Bus or taxi to Split port, then a catamaran to Hvar town or a car ferry to Stari Grad. The fastest way is a private speedboat transfer we arrange for you, door to port in about an hour and a half, with a car waiting on the other side.

Many are. We know which ones have shallow ends, fenced gardens and a beach within walking distance, and which ones have a cliff-edge infinity pool that is wonderful for couples and wrong for toddlers. Tell us the ages and we will point you at the right houses.

Direct access to the sea from the property: a pebble cove, rock slabs or a swim platform. Hvar has no large sandy strands, so expect clear deep water rather than shallow sand.

Often yes; taxi boats operate around Hvar Town and the coves. Tell us where you land and we arrange the water transfer as part of the booking.

The best pool villas for July and August are usually taken months in advance, so book early for peak dates. May, June and September offer better availability, lower rates and warm swimming weather.

In and around Hvar Town, yes: restaurants, beaches and the port are walkable and taxis fill the gaps. For south coast or countryside villas we recommend at least one car or scooter for the group, or our transfer arrangements.

Yes, every villa in this collection has its own pool used only by your group; there are no shared facilities.

Several villas have fenced or gated pools, shallow zones or terraces where children stay in full view. Every listing describes the pool honestly, including depth and access, so you can judge before booking. Cots, high chairs and an extra bed are available on request: tell us the ages of your children in the inquiry and we make sure the villa is set up before you arrive.

Stari Grad bay is the classic answer: shallow calm water, a flat promenade for strollers and everything within a short walk. Vrboska and Jelsa are close seconds with pine shaded family beaches.

The villas under the groups filter sleep ten or more, up to sixteen, with bedroom and bathroom counts stated on every villa page. For anything larger, send an inquiry and we will combine properties or find a bigger house.

Earlier than anyone else: big houses are the scarcest category on the island. For July and August the best group villas are gone by spring, while June and September stay flexible longer and cost less.
