The catamaran is the fastest public way from Split to Hvar town: about one hour pier to pier, landing right on the riva a few steps from the main square. Catamarans take foot passengers only, so if you are travelling with a car you need the Stari Grad ferry instead.
In summer 2026 Jadrolinija line 641 runs twice a day, with Krilo and TP Line adding direct and island-hopping departures through the day. The Jadrolinija ticket is €25 with baggage at €5 per piece, while the Split - Milna - Hvar - Vis line starts at €8.50.

No, catamarans carry foot passengers only. Cars go on the Jadrolinija 635 ferry from Split to Stari Grad, 110 minutes, up to 7 departures a day in summer.
