Zdrilca
Quiet pebble coves among the pines on Marinkovac, a short hop beyond Stipanska.
Zdrilca is a well protected bay with several pebble beaches on Marinkovac, the Pakleni island closest to Hvar town. The sea here is almost always calm, shallow and light blue, often compared to a giant swimming pool.
Regular water taxis run from the main waterfront in Hvar town; there is no road on the island. A short walk through the pine woods takes you across to Mlini beach on the other side.
Several restaurants work in the bay, including Tri Grede right on the beach, konoba Patak and beach bar Mamato, so Zdrilca suits swimmers and long Dalmatian lunches more than partying. Families like the calm, shallow water.
Beach vitals
Faces north, so it stays glassy in the jugo and picks up chop when the bura blows from the north east.
Sun stays late here, the best light is in the afternoon and early evening.
