Grebisce
Knee-deep sandy-bottomed bay for 50 metres: the best beach on the island for small kids.
Grebisce is a sandy cove between Jelsa and Vrboska, about 1.5 to 2 km from the centre of Jelsa, divided into two parts and known as the favourite beach of Jelsa's visitors. The shallow, sandy bottom makes it one of the best family beaches on the island.
Walk or cycle the quiet seaside road from Jelsa away from the main road, or drive; parking sits on terraces under old olive trees just off the road.
A campsite stands above the sandy part with a cafe below it by the sea. On the east side of the bay, towards the Corni Petar headland, you can hire sun loungers under the pines at a small restaurant that locals love for its music and atmosphere.
Beach vitals
Faces north, so it stays glassy in the jugo and picks up chop when the bura blows from the north east.
Sun from early morning, first shade in the afternoon.
