Lucisce, practical questions
How do you get to Lucisce: on foot, by car or by boat?
Lucisce is a hidden bay near Sveta Nedjelja on the south side of the island, about 2 km from the village centre, tucked under cliffs that rise up to 80 m from the sea, with pine forest above. You can reach it by boat or by car from Sveta Nedjelja, though the last stretch of road is difficult; the reward is one of the quietest beaches on Hvar. Let our local concierge organise the best of Hvar for you: exclusive villas not listed online, private chef, boats, transfers.
What is the seabed like and how is the entry into the sea?
The beach itself is about 30 m of pebbles mixed with rougher rock. A freshwater spring rises from the seabed in the bay. It suits swimmers, snorkellers, kayakers and cliff jumpers who want peace under the highest part of the island, below Sveti Nikola peak.
Is there a restaurant or bar at Lucisce?
No, Google Maps shows no restaurant or bar within a few hundred metres of the beach, so bring your own water and snacks for the day.
Is there shade at Lucisce?
Sveta Nedjelja LucisceDeep sheltered bay below Sveta Nedjelja with pebbles, pines and a jetty. A freshwater spring rises from the seabed in the bay. There are no facilities, so bring water and shade.
What should we bring to Lucisce?
Pack water shoes for the pebbles, water and snacks, there are no bars at the beach, sun cream and a towel.
Can we arrive by taxi boat?
Yes. Taxi boats from the Hvar riva run all season and a private ride drops you as close as the seabed allows. See routes and prices on our
water taxi page.
