Lucisce
Deep sheltered bay below Sveta Nedjelja with pebbles, pines and a jetty.
Lucisce is a hidden bay near Sveta Nedjelja on the south side of the island, about 2 km from the village centre, tucked under cliffs that rise up to 80 m from the sea, with pine forest above. The beach itself is about 30 m of pebbles mixed with rougher rock.
You can reach it by boat or by car from Sveta Nedjelja, though the last stretch of road is difficult; the reward is one of the quietest beaches on Hvar. A freshwater spring rises from the seabed in the bay.
There are no facilities, so bring water and shade. It suits swimmers, snorkellers, kayakers and cliff jumpers who want peace under the highest part of the island, below Sveti Nikola peak.
Beach vitals
Faces the open south, so it is calm in the bura from the north and choppy when the jugo blows from the south east.
Sun most of the day, shade only where the pines or the cliff reach the water.
