Ivo Carić was a cook and restaurateur before he turned to the vineyard, and he still cooks at the family konoba in Vrboska, by the second bridge. He runs the winery with Ivana Carić; their oenologist is Ljubomir Makjanić.
Their vineyards include plots at Zavala and Svirče, and Plaže, a seaside vineyard on the south side of the island that gives the flagship its name: Plovac Ploški, a plavac mali aged for at least two years in large barrels.
At the Balkans International Wine Competition in 2022, Plovac Ploški Barrique 2015 won a double gold and the title Best of Show Croatia. It is also on the list at De Librije in the Netherlands. At the Jelsa Summer Wine Tasting, the Carić Rosé Marino took first place among the rosés.
Bogdanjuša is their single-variety bogdanuša, and the tasting line-up covers a wide spread of native grapes.
