The story

Nikola Matković’s family estate in Vrboska dates from 1980, and it is both a winery and a distillery.

The top wine is a barrique plavac mali. Alongside it come plavac mali, bogdanuša, pošip, a rosé and Škarpunero, a dessert wine; the still turns out fruit brandies, carob, myrtle, fig and walnut among them.

In 2019 their Bogdanuša took first place at the first Jelsa Summer Wine Tasting, the island’s own wine judging.

The estate is in the old town near the second bridge. Tastings come with salted fish, pršut, cheese and dried figs, and the Art & Wine workshops pair a tasting with an afternoon of painting.
