Hvar town to Dubrovnik, 2026 timetable

The 09:10 Krilo is the fast one and gets you to Gruž in time for lunch. The 16:45 TP Line arrives after eight in the evening, which is fine if someone is meeting you and less fine if you are looking for a room.

What it costs and how to book

About €50 per person on the Krilo, €55 on TP Line. Luggage travels free in the racks; there is no hold and no vehicles.

Against a four-hour drive with a hire car drop-off fee at the other end, or a bus that takes longer and still leaves you at Gruž, the boat is the sensible option.

For a flight from Dubrovnik, count backwards properly: the airport is another forty-five minutes from Gruž. The 09:10 works for an afternoon flight; nothing works for a morning one.

Arriving in Dubrovnik

You land at Gruž, the working harbour where the cruise ships tie up, not at the old port beneath the walls. The old town is twenty-five minutes away by bus number 1a or 1b, or ten by taxi.

The bus station and the airport shuttle stop are both a two-minute walk from the ferry berth, which makes Gruž a convenient place to arrive if you are moving on rather than staying.

If Dubrovnik is your last stop, the walls are best walked before nine in the morning or after six in the evening. The middle of the day in August is not an experience anyone enjoys.

Good to know before you sail

The boats call at Korčula and sometimes Mljet, so you can break the journey rather than sit through it. Two nights in Korčula turns a transfer into a holiday.

This is the one route where being late means losing a day. There are three boats, they are often full, and the road alternative is four hours.

Bora and jugo both affect this crossing in the shoulder season. In May and October keep a flexible plan for the day you travel.
