Bol to Hvar town, 2026 timetable

Jadrolinija runs this crossing once a day in the summer season, in the late afternoon. It is the only direct link between the two islands, so if you miss it the alternative is Bol to Split and Split to Hvar, which costs the rest of the day.

What it costs and how to book

About €23 per person one way, a little more in the other direction. There is no vehicle deck — this is a passenger catamaran and a bicycle is usually the largest thing that will travel with you.

Because there is exactly one sailing a day, this is one of the few routes where booking ahead genuinely matters in July and August. Day-trippers from Bol fill it quickly.

Board at the Bol ferry landing on the eastern side of the harbour, not at the Zlatni rat end. Be there fifteen minutes before departure.

Arriving in Hvar town

The catamaran ties up on the town riva, which means you walk off into the middle of Hvar town: the square, the Fortica steps and the Pjaca are all within five minutes on foot.

Taxis and porters wait at the head of the pier. If your accommodation is up the hill or out towards Križna luka, it is worth taking one — the lanes are steps, not roads.

For the Pakleni islands, the taxi boats leave from the same waterfront, a hundred metres to your left as you step off.

Good to know before you sail

Bol and Hvar town are the two places on the middle Dalmatian islands that people most often want to combine, and this single sailing is what makes it possible without a detour through Split.

It is a small fast catamaran. In strong jugo the crossing can be cancelled, and the fallback is Bol to Split by road and boat, then Split to Hvar — about five hours all in.

If you are staying in Bol and only want a day on Hvar, the timings do not work in your favour: you arrive in the late afternoon. Plan an overnight.
