Fontana spreads along the north side of the Jelsa bay, tucked into pine trees with its own beachfront, a short walk around the harbour from the town square. Accommodation ranges from hotel rooms to two bedroom apartments, which makes it popular for longer stays.
The pool bar and restaurant terraces look across the water towards Brac, staff get warm reviews, and the dinner buffet is repeatedly mentioned as good for the price. The resort climbs a slope with many steps, so ask for a unit near the seafront if stairs are a problem, and note that parts of the complex are dated.
It suits budget minded travellers, self caterers and families who care more about position and price than polish.
