Family first

Villas where kids are the point, not a problem

Fenced pools, honest access notes and space for everyone: what family friendly means on our list.

Safety you can see

Fenced pools, gated gardens and terraces where the whole play area is visible from the kitchen: our family listings note these details honestly, including stairs and access.

Room for the whole crew

Separate bedrooms for early sleepers, a living room for movie nights and a table big enough for everyone: villas give families what hotel rooms simply cannot.

Practical things sorted

Full kitchens, washing machines, cots and high chairs on request: the boring essentials that make a week with kids actually relaxing.

Help when you want it

Babysitting, grocery stocking before arrival, a chef for one special dinner: our concierge handles it with a fast reply.

Where families settle in best

Four family bases on the island

Stari Grad bay

Shallow, calm water and a flat waterfront promenade: the easiest base with small kids. See Stari Grad.

Hvar Town, but picked carefully

Great for families with teens: beaches, gelato and life on the riva. We flag which villas sit above stairs and which have easy access.

Vrboska and Jelsa

Pine shade, family beaches and a slower pace on the north side. See Vrboska and Jelsa.

Quiet south coves

For families that want the sea to themselves: Zavala, Ivan Dolac and the coves around them, best with a car.

Family villas, common questions

Are the pools safe for young children?

The villas we tag as family friendly have fenced or gated pools, shallow zones or terraces where children stay in full view. Every listing describes the pool honestly, including depth and access, so you can judge before booking.

Do the villas provide cots and high chairs?

Most can, on request: tell us the ages of your children in the inquiry and we make sure the villa is set up before you arrive, including cots, high chairs and an extra bed where needed.

Which part of Hvar is best with small kids?

Stari Grad bay is the classic answer: shallow calm water, a flat promenade for strollers and everything within a short walk. Vrboska and Jelsa are close seconds with pine shaded family beaches.

Is Hvar Town too lively for families?

Not at all, it just needs the right villa: away from the late night bars, with easy access and a pool. Teens usually love the town, and the family beaches east of the centre are excellent.

When is the best time for a family holiday on Hvar?

June and September are the sweet spots: warm sea, gentler sun, lower prices and fewer crowds. July and August work well too if you book early and plan beach mornings before the heat.
