Korčula day trip, common questions

How far is Korčula from Hvar by boat?

About 70 to 90 minutes by speedboat along the south shore of Hvar, and the ride is part of the day: cliffs, hidden coves and open sea views the whole way.

What is there to see in Korčula town?

A compact walled old town often called Dubrovnik in miniature: a herringbone grid of medieval streets, the cathedral of St Mark and the house said to be the birthplace of Marko Polo.

Can we swim on the way?

Yes. Swim stops are built into the day: a cove on the south shore of Hvar on the way out or back, and the beaches around Korčula, with the sandy coves near Lumbarda a short hop from town.

Can we taste local wine?

Korčula is the home of Pošip, one of the best known white wines in Croatia. Lunch in a konoba with a glass of Pošip is easy, and an optional wine tasting can be arranged on request.

Is the tour good for families?

Yes: a comfortable ride, a real town to explore, gentle beaches near Lumbarda and life jackets in every size on board.
